FREE Rain Garden Workshop March 21, Kernersville, NC

Rain gardens are bowl-shaped areas set aside to capture rainwater from roofs and hard surfaces. They help remove pollutants, minimize runoff, and provide habitat for wildlife. Rain gardens can be integrated into the existing landscapes or included in initial landscaping plans. To effectively manage storm water, they must be accurately sized and properly constructed. This 1-day workshop will consist of a classroom presentation covering methods for sizing and design and an outdoor hands-on demonstration of proper construction techniques.

Led by experienced installers from N.C. State University Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and staff from N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center,  the workshop is tailored to the following groups of individuals:
Commercial and Residential Landscapers (Landscaper Contractor Credit provided)
Landscape Architects
Design Engineers
Homeowners and HOA members
Property Managers and Owners
Teachers and Educators (Environmental Education Certification, Criteria II)
Master Gardener Volunteers

The workshop is FREE and lunch will be provided at no cost.
