Spring Adult Nature Programs 2018 Kathleen Clay Library, 1420 Price Park Rd.

Fri., April 27th12 – 1 pm – Mary Oliver’s PoetryJoin us for a discussion about the Pulitzer Prize winning American poet, Mary Oliver. Check out a copy of Mary Oliver’s book: Devotions at the branch prior to the program and share your favorite poems. New members are welcome. This program is sponsored by the Green Reads Book Club and the Piedmont Land Conservancy.

Wed., May 2nd7 – 8:30 pm – Vegetative Plant PropagationMatt Gocke, Greenhouse and Nursery Manager of the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill will speak about propagation projects. This program is sponsored by the Triad Chapter of the Native Plant Society.

Wed., May 9th – 7 – 8 pm - Jordan Lake Discussion
Researchers from UNC and NC State will discuss nutrient management strategies for Jordan Lake.  This collaboration seeks to understand the sources of nutrients, effect of water quality, and how to improve this and other state lakes. Friday, May 18 from 12 - 1 pm – Discussing Wendell BerryGreen Reads Book Club invites adults for a discussion of the author, Wendell Berry, a naturalist, a farmer and an environmental activist. Berry is a prolific writer of novels, short stories, poems and essays. Pick up a copy of a Wendell Berry selection at the branch prior to the program.
