You can bring your prescription bottles in for re-use!
From the Sustainability Newsletter:
Help a 3rd world country in combating a severe public health issue by donating empty medicine bottles. Between now and April 17th, Regina Da Silva and other volunteers will be collecting medicine bottles in the EUC Atrium on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-3PM. People who bring in 5 medicine bottles will receive a coupon voucher for a free Grande Starbucks Coffee. Faculty and staff can contact Regina (rmdasilv@uncg.edu) to schedule a pickup in your department.
Please Note: medicine bottles must be clear in color. ( Note: I checked, and they mean any color as long as it is translucent.)
The drive is open to students, staff, faculty, and the larger Greensboro community. After Da Silva has finished the collection on April 17th, she will remove the labels, wash, and package the bottles. She will also ensure that the labels are properly disposed of and the bottles sanitized before packing them for shipment to Mozambique. This project is a perfect example of the university's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) theme of "global engagement" and it presents an opportunity for the UNCG community to "Do Something Bigger Altogether".
