Know Your Libraries Event

On Tuesday August 27 the Student Libraries Advisory Council (SLAC) and the Libraries sponsored "Know Your Libraries," an information fair to introduce students to our services and resources. Although aimed primarily at new students it was open to anyone. Staff from several departments staffed tables in the Reading Room and talked to students about materials and technology available for checkout, Special Collections (with an emphasis on UNCG history) and how to get help for research. Brief tours of student spaces and the DMC were also provided. Students who visited each station got a card punched and were able to enter a drawing for prizes. Snacks, including some awesome huge cookies, were provided by SLAC. We think around 75 students came through and over 30 completed the punch cards. All in all it was a great success and we hope to offer this event again.
